Ever feel like you keep running into a brick wall? Or, that you are in an endless repeating loop? Seems like everything is happening over and over? UGH! We don’t notice sometimes until things get really bad, do we? It just keeps creeping up until we are completely off balance and overwhelmed. So how do you reverse the trend?
We don’t know what we don’t know: Remember when you were a teenager and you totally knew more than your parents (and everyone else?)? It still happens when you are older… We think we know it all, but then when we open up to learning something; everything changes, right? And it can be game changing!
What are you not seeing or noticing right now that could make all the difference? What are you holding on to that is sabotaging your fabulous self? I recently had this well illustrated. My luxurious rain shower would continue to drip for (what seemed like) an hour after I finished my shower. Plink. Plink. Plink… No matter how much I tried to ignore it, and it started grating on my nerves! I finally had the “aha” to look up at the showerhead, really looked at it and realized the little holes had calcified. Duh… No wonder! The water couldn’t flow through!
Try these ideas to shake things up a bit:
- Identify the block: Look around and figure out exactly what it is that is holding you back. Consider everything. Think outside of the box. When I looked up at the showerhead, I finally saw the culprit; calcification! The little holes were all clogged! What is clogged in your life?
- Set up a system to erase the obstruction: Analyze the situation and figure out how to shift the energy. When I realized the little holes were blocked, I used a small, sharp object to open up each one gently. Little chunks came out of each hole in the showerhead. No wonder it couldn’t flow freely! The water hadn’t been able to run through at the normal rate, so kept on dripping…
- Open up to the flow: Now that you have identified and dissolved the blocks, relax and allow the good stuff to come. Let go of the frustration, pain, jealousy and anger of the past. Focus your thoughts on your new, positive future. I still marvel at the lovely rain shower…I had forgotten how delightful it felt on my skin, since so slowly over time it had changed!
