Have you ever noticed how mirrors offer opportunities for interesting perspectives…how they allow us to see the same or is it the opposite that we are viewing? Is it an alternate universe? Perhaps future possibilities? The “flip” side?
Let’s consider the following:
1. Do we see what we WANT to see when we look into a mirror? What can we learn from this? Is it a good thing or a bad thing to see what we want? Following the Law of Attraction, we understand that we create with our thoughts and it’s OK (to a certain degree!) to fantasize and dream rather than dwelling on “what is”.
2. People are mirrors-we see in them that which we don’t like in ourselves. Ever notice that some people really push your buttons? If you are open to it, take a closer look, and you’ll find a piece of yourself that you don’t particularly like. Hmmm…so how does this serve us? Try accepting the person and working on the facet of you that needs tweaking.
3. And then there’s the car mirror; we look behind us and see the past. Do we live with blinders on? Are you stuck in the past or wouldn’t you rather be laser-focused on the future? Let it go, move forward and create a new reality.
This week, I challenge you to be the authentic person you are meant to be. Consider the mirrors that appear in your life. Banish any negative, catty, hateful thoughts. Keep working at being happy for others and wanting the best for them. You’ll be amazed at how these simple steps will shift the relationships around you.
Into which mirrors are you looking? What would you like to be doing differently? How will you accomplish that? Can’t wait to hear! Please share your thoughts below or email me at ellen@yourtransformationcoach.com.

Nice point of view Ellen! These are simple steps to take for seeing all the good in all the mirrors around you
Thanks, Susan! Seeing the good serves us well; it opens the space to allow the good stuff to flow and feeeels so much better!

Well said, Ellen! I have been actively working on steering clear from negative, people, places, and things that contribute to negativity. My life is so different now and I am more useful to others.
Thank you for writing this very inspiring post. Keep on changing lives, Ellen!

Thanks, Stacie! Glad to hear you are being proactive in this area!
Ellen, as a visual person, your mirror examples are so powerful to me. It’s hard to look into the mirror during those tough times. I’m going to take your advice and create positive energy and do my best to spread more happiness around. Thanks for the post.
Great post, Ellen. I didn’t notice all the different mirrors around me until you clearly pointed out. I don’t have a car mirror perspective – I glance at it but I’m always moving forward. I am guilty of #1 and #2 however, but did not think to perceive/project my thoughts that way. Thanks for the advice.
This is soo funny. My friend has a keen sense of always seeing the exact thing that’s wrong with her in everyone else. The fact that I can see that very thing in her, means I have the same thing wrong with me. It’s no wonder we fight all the time. Too funny.
#2 is the one that holds the biggest lessons for me. I used to get cranky whenever someone rubbed me the wrong way. Now I see it as an opportunity to learn something about myself because I know it’s a reflection of one of my “flaws”
. Thanks, Ellen!
Ah the mirror – a cross between the beauty we really are and the lack that we often see. That reflection is always a tricky one in the beginning of the emotional journey. I love working with people in this phase because it’s such a huge shift for their future and gets them to look forward rather than in the car rear view mirror.
Nice post.

This blog was very interesting to read. It really made me think about my life and the mirrors that I look into. The car mirror analogy stuck out to me, as I think too many people live dwelling on the past while they should be looking ahead towards the future.
